Writing Better Prompts
Most prompts fail because they are vague, not because they are short.
State the goal, not the process
"Summarize this for a non-technical reader in 3 paragraphs" works better than "make this simpler." Define what done looks like — the agent figures out how.
Add the thing you are talking about
If you have a file, link, or existing draft, attach it. An agent working from your actual document will outperform one working from your description of it.
Name the output format
"As a table", "as an email I can send directly", "as a Markdown doc I can paste into Notion." If you do not say, it guesses.
Iterate instead of restarting
"Make the intro shorter." "Remove the third section." "Add a risk section at the end." Small targeted changes to a good first draft almost always beat trying to get the perfect output first try.
