Quick Start

Most people who try Starchild and don't return never hit a useful moment. This guide is designed to change that in under 5 minutes.

The fastest path to a useful result

Don't set up. Don't explore features. Give it one real task from something you actually need done today: "summarize this PDF", "explain what this error means", "write a first draft of this email." The useful moment comes from doing, not from reading about what's possible.

What you can do without any setup

No API keys, no app connections, no configuration needed to start. In your first session you can upload a file, ask complex questions, write and run code, analyze data, or build a simple web app. Most people significantly underestimate what works out of the box.

What to connect when ready

When you want the agent to act on your behalf — send emails, create GitHub issues, post to Twitter — connect the relevant apps under Connections. Tokens and API keys go through secure input, never into chat.

Why session one matters most

Users who complete a real task in their first session are far more likely to return. Don't spend it configuring. Spend it getting one result that makes you think: I'll use this again.
