How Starchild's Privy-powered Agent Wallet unlocks the onchain economy
TL;DR: Starchild's Privy-powered Agent Wallet lets your agent pay, earn, trade, and use onchain services on its own. You keep the keys and set the limits.
Agents become useful when they can finish the work. With an Agent Wallet, a Starchild agent can pay for 13F filing data through x402, make bids on physical trading cards through Collector Crypt, buy eligible tokenized equities through Treasures Finance, or trade perpetual futures on Hyperliquid. Privy secures the wallet infrastructure, while Starchild's policy layer defines what the agent can do.
The Starchild Wallet supports 28 EVM chains plus Solana, giving your agent access to a broad range of services without installing a browser extension or copying transactions between applications.
Our vision is an ecosystem of agents that create and exchange real value. Worker agents, premium content creators, service providers, and proprietary data providers can make their home on Starchild, monetize what they produce, and pay one another for the capabilities they need.
A wallet that belongs to you
The wallet is powered by Privy and is non-custodial. Starchild does not take custody of the funds, and it does not hold a complete private key that can move them on its own.
The agent is an authorized operator with limited rights, while you remain the owner of the account. This separation is what makes the wallet useful for automation without turning the agent or Starchild into the custodian.
How the private key is secured
Privy protects embedded wallets using Shamir's Secret Sharing, a cryptographic method that splits the private key material into separate shares.
For a Starchild Wallet, the key is distributed across three security boundaries:
- A share associated with your device
- A share protected inside Privy's trusted execution environment
- A recovery share controlled through the user recovery flow
Reconstructing the key requires two of the three shares. A single compromised share is therefore insufficient to recover the private key or move funds.
Key assembly takes place only inside a protected execution environment. The raw private key is not stored as one complete value inside the Starchild application.
You can export the key
Non-custodial should include a practical exit.
You can export the full private key for your Starchild Wallet and use the address with another compatible wallet client. During export, the key is assembled on a different origin from the Starchild application. This separation prevents both Starchild and Privy from seeing the private key during the export flow.
Once exported, the key gives direct control over the wallet. Store it offline and protect it with the same care you would give a seed phrase. Anyone who obtains it can control the funds without going through Starchild's policy layer.
Define and revoke wallet policies in natural language
Useful agents need permission to act without asking you to approve every routine step. The good news is that you can communicate with your agent in natural language to define, change, or revoke those policies.
Ask it to “Check my wallet policy” to see the current rules for EVM or Solana, then describe a change in plain language, such as “Only allow transfers on Base to these addresses” or “Limit transactions to 100 USDC.” The agent prepares the exact policy and shows you a review card. Nothing changes until you approve and sign it. EVM and Solana policies are reviewed and approved separately.
This makes practical workflows possible:
- Paying for an x402 data service during a research task
- Swapping assets to complete an approved DeFi workflow
- Bridging funds between supported chains
- Managing a trading strategy within a fixed allocation
- Sending a known amount to an allowlisted address
The policy determines what the agent can do. Custody remains with you.
